Sleep – the secret sauce for success!
A good night’s sleep can be easily taken for granted, but it is vital for optimal health. Sleep is the body’s ‘maintenance’ mode, where essential recovery and repair can take place. Regular, good quality sleep also supports a healthy immune system, mental wellbeing and cognition. Sleep hygiene (our behaviours around sleep and bedtime) can dramatically improve sleep quality. Top tips for a better night’s sleep!
- Set an alarm on your phone, to remind yourself it’s time to start winding down for the night.
- Try to maintain a regular sleep schedule (i.e. going to bed and waking up at roughly the same times).
- Avoid eating large meals in the 2-3 hours before going to bed.
